SUMMARY:7e Vlaams-Nederlandse natuursteendagen
\n\n\n\nMore details: website \n\n\n\nFlyer to download

SUMMARY:2nd edition of the Quarries alive International Conference
DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues\, We are pleased to announce that the 2nd edition of the Quarries alive International Conference will be held at the University of Liège\, Belgium\, June 24-26\, 2020\, with the theme “Quarries as opportunity for biodiversity and ecosystem services – A European approach”. The conference aims to create a bridge between quarry and biodiversity projects. The goal is to create an interdisciplinary gathering to exchange experiences from scientific research projects\, technical engineering approaches and innovative pilot-studies focusing on the enhancement of biodiversity in quarries. We welcome all researchers\, practitioners\, stakeholders\, as well as policy makers\, to take part to this conference and share their knowledge. We challenge all actors of the quarrying activity\, from ecologists to industrial stakeholders or NGOs working on fulfilling the demand for sustainable exploitation of ressources. The conference is a joint organization between the University of Liège (ULiège)\, the Belgian Extractive Industry Federation (FEDIEX)\, and the LIFE in Quarries project team. Please visit the conference website http://www.gembloux.ulg.ac.be/qa2020/  for regular updates or contact us: quarriesalive2020@uliege.be Hope to see you at the conference\, Best regards\, Kathleen Mercken (On Behalf of the Organization committee) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:3rd EUROENGEO2020
DESCRIPTION:3rd EUROENGEO2020 is announced for 20-24 September 2020!\nThe 3rd European Regional Conference of IAEG will be hosted in Athens\, Greece\, by the IAEG National Group of Greece. The conference will take place from 20th to 24th of September 2020. A European regional conference of IAEG was decided in the last council in South Korea. The activation again of the IAEG regional conference in Europe is a fundamental action for our region. Unfortunately\, since the regional conference of IAEG in Europe has been inactive for almost 12 years\, we do not have the chance to meet in our region often (the last was five years ago in Torino). Considering that almost half of the members and National Groups (NGs) of IAEG are from European region\, we hope that the initiative will become a stable event\, involving the scientific and professional community of the same area.\n\nThe conference will be organized with the collection of extensive abstracts in order to reduce the complexity of the event due to the limited time. More details about the 3rd European Regional Conference will be available in few days on the conference website. It is our pleasure also to announce that the Executive Office and Council of IAEG for 2020 will be hosted in the occasion of the conference in Athens. The next Richard Wolters Prize competition for 2020 will be moreover presented by IAEG at the occasion of the conference.

SUMMARY:Lezing 'Stenen liegen niet. Klimaatverandering doorheen de tijd' / 22-10-2020
DESCRIPTION:Lezing ‘Stenen liegen niet. \nPraktische informatie \nDuur: 2 uren \nPrijs: Tickets: € 5/ deelnemer – € 3 / studenten \nabonnement Cosmodrome: gratis toegang (liefst wel reserveren via kattevennen@genk.be) \nWanneer? Onderkant formulier: – Donderdag 22 oktober 20u00 \nKoop tickets: Meer info

SUMMARY:Near Surface Geoscience Conference & Exhibition 2021 - EAGE
DESCRIPTION:Near Surface Geoscience Conference & Exhibition 2021 to be held in Bordeaux\, France\, from 29 August  to 2 September 2021. \nWe are pleased to announce that this year’s event will be hosted for the first time in Bordeaux\, where we’ll introduce the 1st Conference on Hydrogeophysics alongside the 27th European Meeting of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics\, and the 2nd Conference on Geophysics for Infrastructure Planning\, Monitoring and BIM. Without a doubt the main conference and the two parallel meetings cover topics that are of societal relevance for the whole world and our near-surface geoscience community. \n\nWe at the division realise the need to organise focused conferences and respond to the need of our members by providing new and attractive topics that can provide an environment to move the science and technology forward while also addressing the need of our society. Bordeaux is a hub for non-destructive testing (NDT) in France and French companies are on the forefront of developing complex infrastructures such as high-speed trains\, underground facilities as well as bridges\, airports and shipping ports. This is therefore a great opportunity to welcome newcomers to the event\, particularly to the Infrastructure Planning\, Monitoring and BIM conference. We welcome design and civil engineers\, city planners and geotechnical communities to take an active role in the conference after a successful presence in the NSG2019 in the Hague. \nWater and natural resources in a rapidly changing climate and their implications to build a resilience society are not hidden from NGOs and governmental bodies. The introduction of the Hydrogeophysics parallel conference aims to connect the science with the public sectors and governmental entities\, and I personally welcome these communities attending and exchanging their knowledge and needs with us in Bordeaux. \nWebsite details
