CEEGS activities and news
CEEGS (CO2 based electrothermal energy and geological storage system) is a cross-sectoral technology for energy transition, with a renewable energy storage system based on the transcritical CO2 cycle, CO2 storage in geological formations and geothermal heat extraction. It is a highly efficient, cost-effective, and scalable (small-to large-scale) concept for large-capacity renewable energy storage. Website link

Please find bellow exceptional invitation to the EU Parliament.
All levels of geologists experiences are welcome, including students (do not hesitate to distribute through students).
We are pleased to invite you to the event “Geology for a Safe, Secure and Sustainable Europe,” organised by the European Federation of Geologists (EFG) on 21 November 2024, 9:00-17:15 CET, at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Three high-level round-tables will gather Members of the European Parliament, European Commission representatives, and senior geoscience professionals to explore the vital role of geology in advancing the European Green Deal and related key policies, including the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA), the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA), the Soil Health Law proposal, and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). These discussions will centre on mitigating natural hazards, securing critical resources, and promoting sustainability, fostering essential dialogue between geoscientists and policymakers to address Europe’s strategic needs and environmental goals.
In addition, we would be delighted to welcome you to the first session of the EFG Council meeting on 22 November, from 8:30-13:00 CET, also held at the European Parliament. This session will feature presentations from all EFG National Associations, offering you an opportunity to learn more about EFG and its members.
In case you do not have the possibility to travel, feel free to express your interest in an online participation (possibility still to be confirmed).
Please confirm your availability by completing the following form before 18 October: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/EFG-EP-events-2024-11
Given the strict security regulations in place at the European Parliament, attendee data must be submitted at least one month in advance. For accreditation purposes, we will also require a copy of your ID card or passport. Please refer to the guidelines in the registration form. Thank you for your understanding.
We look forward to welcoming you to Brussels in November.
