At Hamburg, we are planning to open a tenure track junior professorship W1 (leading to a permanent associate professorship W2 after positive evaluation) in "Quaternary Geology - Hydrological Cycle“. This position is supposed to contribute to our new focus topic „georesources“ but also to aspects of (paleo-)climate research.
Before we can announce the position, we have to pass various administrative steps, including a scouting list of potential young applications. Potential applicants should hold a PhD in Quaternary Geology (or related topic) with a background in working on sediment archives (preferably a proxy person, not a modeler).
According to Hamburg regulations for junior professorships, the PhD completion date of applicants should be not more than four years ago. This rule is quite strict but the time can extend with parental leaves etc.
