Geologica Belgica Luxemburga Scientia & Professionis

Geologica Belgica Luxemburga Scientia & Professionis is a Belgian, bilingual, non-profit organization established in Brussels, with the goal to contribute to the development of Earth Sciences and to create a environmental favorable for the communication of scientific knowledge and research. All universities and institutions active in the field of geology are represented in the board of Geologica Belgica Luxemburga Scientia & Professionis. Its « sister » association « Société Géologique de Belgique » located in Liège is a privileged partner for the organization of scientific activities.

What we are doing

OUR ACTIVITIES

Geologica Belgica Luxemburga Scientia & Professionis organizes geological meetings, workshops, field trips and award ceremonies. The organization also possesses a library and publishes a scientific journal, written in collaboration with the scientists and published by a private printing company in Belgian and published also electronically, as well as a GBLsp newsletter mostly forwarded by email, which is sent to its members several times a year.

GBLsp is organizing the 20th November 2024 the Ernest Van den Broeck Medal 2024 and you are cordially invited to the lecture by the Prof Dr Alain Dassargues entitled "Scale and definition challenges in quantitative hydrogeology” which will take place at 4 pm at the "Station de traitement des eaux de Hesbaye" in Ans. The lecture will be preceded by a guided tour of the CILE (Compagnie Intercommunale Liégeoise des Eaux) water potabilization plant at Ans, near Liège.
